Yesterday, Sony made a large number of virtual virtuosos happy by announcing that pretty much every single PS3 peripheral coming out with this fall’s music titles will be cross-compatible. Rock Band 2 controllers will work with Guitar Hero: World Tour, GH:WT instruments will work with Rock Revolution, and so on. In response, Microsoft has announced today, via the Gamerscore Blog, that Xbox 360 musicians can look forward to the same compatibility and ease of use.
That’s actually the entirety of the announcement. Seriously, Microsoft’s Chris Paladino basically just says “Us too!” Well, I suppose there’s not really much to say beyond that, is there? Still, that’s once again great news for all aspiring rock gamers (or game rockers, I’m not sure). We can take our time and purchase the hardware we want based on the individual merit of the devices, without worrying about which game it comes with.
