BioWare Opens Montreal Studio to Work on Mass Effect 2

While layoffs, bankruptcy and restructuring predominate video games industry news, it is something of a pleasure to hear of growth within the industry. Today, BioWare announced the formation of a new Montreal-based team to work within Electronic Arts' existing Montreal studio. The team will focus its efforts on the highly anticipated Mass Effect 2 and [...]

Svensson: Mass Effect has ‘Best DRM I’ve Ever Seen’

EA CEO John Riccitiello personally hates DRM, but much to the bane of PC gamers -- and the delight of class-action attorneys -- most of EA's high-profile titles include the controversal SecuROM copy-protection solution anyhow. But speaking on the behalf of the PC Gaming Alliance yesterday, Capcom's VP of strategic planning and business development Christian Svensson [...]

E3 2008: Alpha Protocol

I feel like I might not have gotten the proper experience out of my Alpha Protocol demonstration last week, since I didn't employ any stealth or guile when gaining access to Sega's E3 booth. There I was, coming in to see an espionage RPG, and I walked right in the front door with legitimate credentials. [...]

GameSpyte Lyte: Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of ROMs

Hi there, and thanks for consciously choosing not to read GameSpyte instead of just glossing past it. Your brief consideration is all we need. Today, we'll be celebrating pirates, but not the cool marketable kind with eyeliner and slurred dialogue -- the boring, digital kind. Step aboard!
