Good news for fans of “Star Ocean”: Square Enix has just sent out an email alerting websites to change the American release date of the 360-exclusive “Star Ocean: The Last Hope” from March 3, 2009 to February 24, 2009.
The latest entry into the “Star Ocean” series, the game is one of Microsoft’s big gambles to garner more Xbox 360 love in Japan. While the US release date has been pushed up, it appears that the overseas release dates will remain the same, with Japan getting the game on February 19, and Europe getting the game April 24.

We'll see how long this remains an exclusive. I doubt if Japanese consumers are going to purchase a gaijin console for just one game, even if it is a Star Ocean. I think it'd take a Dragon Quest to do the trick...
