A representative from Square-Enix informed the writers over at The Wiire that their WiiWare game, Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, would be released in North America on May 12 in time with the launch of WiiWare in the U.S. The game will cost $15 (or 1,500 Wii Points if you prefer imaginary currency).
The WiiWare title will occur in the same universe as Crystal Chronicles for the GameCube, but unlike its forbearer, which was a multiplayer action RPG, My Life as a King has been described as a simulation title. Very little is known about the gameplay at this time, but, rest-assured moogle fans, those cuddly characters will be making an appearance.
Crystal Chronicles for the GameCube will be forever remembered within my circle of friends as the game that very nearly destroyed our friendships. We argued over every single piece of treasure that dropped. One of our friends actually played by himself just so he could gain a few more stat points and one up us. I actually cringe every time I hear about a new entry in this series. That doesn’t stop me from wearing my moogle underroos.
