Update: Konami PR has informed us that the PC version will be distributed exclusively through Steam. “No retail boxed version will be produced,” a representative informed us.
Update: Silent Hill: Homecoming producer Tomm Hulett has confirmed that the U.S. release is still on for September.
Original Story: While the game’s subtitle won’t be nearly as apt in November, when the European version, at least, is now slated for release, we’re more than willing to forgive Silent Hill: Homecoming’s delay with today’s news that the game will make an appearance on PC… and moreover, digitally distributed through Steam.
The Silent Hill has been ported to PC ever since the survival horror series’ sophomore entry, but this will be the first title to see digital distribution, and, from what we can tell, the first time Konami has released a title through the Steam service. Given that Konami has a few older PC titles ripe for the picking, we wonder if this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
We’re awaiting the official yay or nay on the U.S. delay now.
