Rock Band Announcing Six New Full Albums by End of August

News

G4TV had a rather lengthy conversation with Harmonix’s PR Coordinator yesterday, during which a rather large number of revelations were made public. Virtual virtuosos (I’m growing fond of that term) can look forward to exciting news and features for the electronic ensemble experience (I should write ad copy). Among the new announcements: Harmonix will be announcing six new album downloads by the end of the month. Rush’s Moving Pictures has been all but confirmed at this point, but that still leaves five more to come within the next week and a half! And that’s just the beginning…

The remaining announcements are as follows:

  • Of the six new albums, we can expect one metal record, one pop, and one alternative. Rust in Peace, Autoamerican, and Nevermind, please.
  • One such full album will be out by the end of August. We think it’s Moving Pictures. Call it a hunch.
  • Rock Band 2 will contain Steely Dan’s “Bodhisattva.” You won’t beat it, ever.
  • Harmonix is still on track to hit 500 DLC songs by the end of the year.
  • We already knew this, but song transfers from Rock Band to Rock Band 2 will cost a small fee (somewhere under $5).

I’ve mentioned I like this game, right? I really kinda do.
