Reset Generation Tournament: Round Three

News

GameCyte has advanced to the semifinal round of the Reset Generation Invitational, a grueling series of Reset Generation matches between the best writers and personalities in the games industry (and us too). Against all odds, we have rescued four princesses so far, leaving our opponents’ castles lonely and depressing, and bringing ourselves inexplicably closer to ultimate victory! Later today, we’ll be competing in our third match, which means one of two things will happen: Either our foolhardy quest will finally come to a crushing end, or GameCyte will be in the finals. What would we even do with all those princesses? Wish us luck, dear readers, because it all goes down this afternoon; we’ll update this post with the outcome. You can keep tabs on all of the tournament tribulations here, relive some of our past matches here, and remember — you can always play Reset Generation yourself, for free, right here.

Today’s opponent: Joe Blancato of Giant Realm, and former contributor and moderator for The Escapist. We wish Mr. Blancato the best of luck today, as always, but we feel obligated to point out that we’ve rescued four princesses now, and we’re kind of getting a taste for it. We may have to rescue one or two of yours today, Joe. Fair warning.

UPDATE: GameCyte has rescued its way to another victory, narrowly defeating Mr. Blancato 2-1 in retro antics! We thank Joe for some well-fought games, and were proud to go up against such an excellent competitor. See you in the finals, folks!
