While we may have mixed feelings about the structuring of Rock Band’s latest add-on, we certainly have no issues with getting 20 extra songs for free. As promised back when Rock Band 2 launched, the simple act of purchasing the game entitles you to download an additional 20 songs for your growing library of Rock Band DLC. A cool free gift for Rock Band supporters, a way to exceed the disc limit, or a sneaky tactic to discourage used sales of the game? Possibly all of the above, but in any case, you can now take the second step towards getting those 20 free songs. (Step one was to buy Rock Band 2. You did buy Rock Band 2, didn’t you?)
Harmonix and MTV Games aren’t making the songs completely available just yet, nor are they revealing what those songs are. Instead, today they have opened up a new web page where you can input your game’s redemption code, found on the back of your manual. This will, in turn, get you an email containing your Xbox LIVE download code when the songs are finally ready. The website mentions that PS3 and Wii players will be able to follow this same process, but those versions of the game haven’t launched yet, of course. Regardless of your system of choice, the website to plug in your code is right here.
Are you taking the necessary steps to ensure that in the future you will be ready to rock?!
