PS3 and PSP Firmware Updates Released

Wed, Oct 15, 2008

News

Remember, two days ago, when we told you about Sony’s new firmware upgrades for the PS3 and PSP, and we said they were scheduled for release “later this month?” Well, two days counts as “later,” right? Spotted over at Joystiq, Sony has gone ahead and released both firmware upgrades; they’re available for download and installation now on their respective platforms. To refresh your memory, these are the upgrades which will let you use the new PS3 Bluetooth Headset, improve your ability to compare your trophies to your friends’, and access the PS Store directly from your PSP.

You can download the updates now — select the “system update” option on your XMB. Unless you have any interest in homebrew applications at all, in which case, you ought to steer clear, of course.
