As seems to be the trend for modern “simultaneous multiplatform release,” particularly those designed by Ubisoft, the PC version of Prince of Persia is getting the short end of the stick — but fear not, as Blue’s News is reporting that you’ll only have to wait one additional week to break out your mouse and keyboard in celebration.
Assuming, of course, your computer can handle the game. After the jump, we have the full required specs courtesy of a Ubisoft community manager.
According to Ubisoft community developer UbiRazz, and confirmed by the official German Ubisoft website, the required minimum PC specs to play Prince of Persia are as follows:
Minimum System Requirements
Supported OS: Windows® XP/Windows Vista®
Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel® Pentium® D or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 3800+ (Intel Core® 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better recommended)
RAM: 1 GB Windows XP/2 GB Windows Vista
Video Card: 256 MB DirectX® 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (see supported list)*
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0–compliant sound card (5.1 sound card recommended)
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 libraries (included on disc)
DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
Hard Drive Space: 8 GB
Peripherals Supported: Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360® Controller for Windows recommended)* Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI® RADEON® X1600*/1650*-1950/HD 2000/3000 series
NVIDIA GeForce® 6800*/7/8/9 series
Look familiar? They should — line for line, they’re the exact same specs Ubisoft revealed for Assassin’s Creed PC in March. It’s pretty safe to say, then, that if you could play Assassin’s Creed on your rig, you can now play Prince of Persia too.
While PC components to build such a rig are more affordable than ever, these requirements are still fairly steep: results of the latest Steam Survey show that nearly 60% of participating gamers are still be using single-core processors… and 40% may not have a video card that supports Shader Model 3.0.
UbiRazz mentions, however, that these minimums may not be as bare a minimum as PC gamers have grown accustomed to. “There are no recommended specs,” the community manager said, “as basically anything you have over this will run it nicely.”

Yes, it worked fine for me, I have a P4 Northwood 3.0Ghz, 2GB ram and an ATI 2600 Pro AGP card. It run pretty good, it has few display options, just a checkbox for “high res textures” and display resolution.
