For radicals on both sides of the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election, it’s your worst nightmare come to life.
Of course, it’s all just a game. Last night, G4TV announced that via upcoming downloadable content, Mercenaries 2 will feature playable likenesses of Barack Obama and Sarah Palin.
Pandemic’s Tom Stratton offered G4 this explanation:
Mercenaries 2 is a game seemingly ripped straight out of today’s headlines and fueled with the same type of over-the-top action found in the best summer blockbuster films. It only makes sense we inject the game with a spin on current affairs. The timing was too good to let pass.
There’s no word on what that timing is, exactly, nor whether we’ll have to… ‘ahem’ conduct fundraisers for the presidential privilege… but there is a hilarious video just after the jump that shows our political media darlings in action.
Sadly, I don’t think Mercenaries 2 was among the games in which Senator Obama has begun political ads. The thought of blowing up Obama’s in-game ads — with Obama himself — has me practically salivating with glee.
