Typically, it takes years of hard work to go pro -- but this November, Microsoft will let your Xbox 360 Core or Arcade get pretty close to Pro spec for $100. The rumored Xbox 360 Starter Pack is real, and will include a detachable 60GB hard drive, headset, ethernet cable and three-month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.
Yes, that's the same $100 you could have spent to get a Xbox 360 Pro in the first place, but despite a similar compound price and what you might hear from our friends at Kotaku, the new pack doesn't include everything the Xbox 360 Arcade is missing. You'll still have to purchase your own component cables to get HD video output.
According to the listings at retailer GameStop (via Gamasutra), the Xbox 360 Live Pack will retail on November 4th -- just next week. If you need one, it's not a bad deal... but if you can, get into the Xbox 360 Memory Upgrade Program instead.
