It’s release date city around here lately. LittleBigPlanet, Sony’s community-driven platformer, has been given a release date as well, as spotted by Destructoid over on Sony’s semi-official Three Speech blog. That date, for us filthy yankee gamers, is October 21st, and Sony has a handful of free DLC offerings to encourage you to get the game at launch. For starters, Sackboy, gaming’s first burlap-based mascot, may have a free “spaceman” costume on day one, as well as a “week one” T-shirt for Señor Sack to show off your hip status as an early adopter. Both of these costumes will be available for a limited time only, so if you miss out, well… I guess you’ll just have to wear a different costume that nobody will pay much attention to while they’re hustling through the levels.

October 22nd Europe, Australia & New Zealand
October 24th UK & Ireland(The Japanese release date is currently targeting the week commencing 27th October)

There will also be a rare “Week One” Sackboy t-shirt to prove that you were there at the start. Both items will be available for a limited time only.
Of course, it’s not just about what your Sackboy will be wearing this season, it’s what he can do that counts. LittleBigPlanet delivers over 50 levels to play out of the box either on your own or in up to 4-player multiplayer. You also get the most intuitive and powerful content creation tools ever seen in a console game, enabling you to make whatever you want.
