The pleasant folks over at Paradox Interactive have supplied GameCyte with a handful of new screenshots from their upcoming horse & sword game, Mount & Blade. These new screens show off both mounts and blades, so they cover every aspect of the game. Some of the screens even have mounts and blades together in the same picture, if you can handle that.

This valiant fellow has just told everyone to charge! They are clearly obeying said order, though it would seem everyone is charging directly at this guy. Based on the number of previous orders we can see fading away on the HUD, I think the army pictured here intends to charge on over and have a lively discussion about the habits of effective managers. They’re totally just going to talk, I promise.
Here, we are treated to a knight’s-eye-view of a tall cliff overlooking a battle. In a moment, our gallant rider will dismount his armored steed so he can take a closer look and start playing “I’m crushing your head” with his soldiers.
In medieval times, it was not uncommon to see a group of mischievous children laughing and running in all directions during a pitched game of Gouge the Steed. This particularly bloodthirsty variant of Kick the Can was abolished during the renaissance, though the SCA has been known to hold the occasional game in international waters.
