Even if this is all Interplay meant when they said they were reviving their old franchises, we could do worse than this. The recently-revived publisher has announced that four classic titles are coming to the Wii on Virtual Console, namely, Earthworm Jim, Earthworm Jim 2, Boogerman, and Clayfighter. Clayfighter I could take or leave, and admittedly I never did play Boogerman, but I’m delighted to hear of the Jim games.
There are no dates yet for the four games apart from a far-reaching “soon” and “later this year,” but I know where my Wii points are going. I want to play the in-between level races with Psy-Crow again, and that level where the big climactic battle with Bob the Fish ends with you eating him.
Oh, and by the by — this isn’t all that Interplay meant by reviving the franchise. From EWJ creator Doug TenNapel’s website & forums last Thursday, Doug himself writes:
…a deal has been signed. A press release is coming. Just so you know first!
Glee!
