You've cruised past the Santa Monica pier, raced down the Sunset Strip, torn through Beverly Hills and blasted past skyscrapers in downtown LA. But you haven't truly experienced Los Angeles until you've had your fill of Randy's Donuts. So in early 2009, Rockstar Games will provide an alternative to glitz and glamour, and take your copy of Midnight Club: LA to the ghetto with the new South Central DLC expansion pack.
How much content are we talking about? Well, that probably depends how much you want to pay... for an undisclosed fee, you can get new races, cars, music and the game's first SUVs. But taking a page from the game-changing DLC pioneers at Criterion, the main attraction -- a new area of of the city one-third the size of the entire original game -- will be available for free.
Considering that the size of Midnight Club: LA itself was often compared to the Midnight Club 3's three cities put together, series fans will know this is no small addition -- and considering how much detail Rockstar puts into their environments, we'd guess it's a fairly costly one too. Here's hoping not too costly to stop this kind of thing from becoming a trend.
You can find a pair of additional screens, and a press release with a minor list of South Central's more colorful landmarks, immediately follow.
