Space Giraffe is easily one of the most polarizing games in recent years. Some people really, really loved it; others thought it was one of the worst games ever. I, for one, thought it was one of the best shooters I’ve played since the golden days of arcade gaming. But that's just my opinion.

Now, PC gamers (and shooter fans) can have a chance to see what 360 owners fought over last year, as Llamasoft has released a PC version of the psychedelic title. Priced at $20, the release is more expensive than the XBLA one, but the game has also been updated in the last year, including a brand new mode of play which “tones down” the craziness and flashing lights. (So less headaches for some of you!)

The game will still contain the original core gameplay, though, so if the new mix is too easy, give that a go. The best part is that the PC version will allow for future levels to be added. “We also added the capability for us to make available further level packs - which can be completely new levels rather than simply remixes - should there be sufficient interest,” says the new post on Llamasoft’s site. “We could make chillout level packs, ultra-intense packs, shorter game packs (maybe 20 levels instead of 100 for those who want a shorter game), special themed packs to celebrate Christmas or L. Ron Hubbard's birthday - whatever people would like.”

Space Giraffe with special theme packs to celebrate L. Ron Hubbard’s birthday? Who could pass that up!

For those of you who want to buy the game, you can do so at Llamasoft's shop, here. If you have no idea what a "space giraffe" is and want to try it out a bit, just download the newly released demo.
