According to Kotaku, a pirated copy of GTA IV is now live and available for download on various torrent servers. This particular copy is the PAL copy, and it is being provided by a group called iCON.
Although Kotaku is uncertain whether the 6.32 GB file includes the entire game, there have been videos of the intro video and early missions of the game surfacing across the wonderful land we know as the internet. By my count, there are seventeen different copies of the game available on a particularly popular torrent site. Not that I know torrent sites. Not that I pirate things. I'm a good boy, Rockstar, please don't be angry with me.
Piracy might impact the bottom line, but San Andreas was leaked early as well, and still performed well in the marketplace. Sixteen million copies is nothing to sneeze at. It remains to be seen whether Rockstar really will pull in $400 million during the opening week.
