December is a big month for WAR players. Not only did we finally get KotBS and BGs, but with patch 1.1 we’ll be able to see ourselves worshipped in giant statue form.
If we’re good enough, that is.
In the still-not-out-but-out-soon 1.1 patch, Mythic is adding afun feature for their top players: statues. Not just any statues, mind you, but statues immortalizing (temporarily) the top players on each server. Says James Casey in the latest dev diary (via Wired): “Coming in December, patch 1.1 will introduce an in-game Top Ten leaderboard system that will put up statues for the best of the best right smack down in the middle of the Cities!”
The statues will be dynamic, and change as the top 10 leaderboard on each server changes. Find your way cracking that list? Head to the major cities to see your character in granite form.
That’s not the only plan Mythic has when it comes to incorporating their WAR leaderboards into the virtual world, though. “Plus, if your name on a statue wasn’t enough, there just might be other things in the works for players who are the best of the best,” James wrote. “Heck, there might even be rewards for taking out the best of the best… Bwahaha.”
