Wii gamers have been happy knowing that Nintendo's Virtual Console, constantly updated with more games from many different developers and systems, is simply the best place to get the retro tiles enjoyed during their childhood. SEGA decided to give them a harsh reality check, as a new retro game compilation is set to hit the PS3 and 360. This is not too surprising, but when you consider that Wii owners may have to pay up to 8 Wii points ($8 USD) for each release, while Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection will include 40 different titles and only retail for $30, it sort of hits a sore spot. The collection will also include unlockable goodies such as arcade games and developer interviews, while all titles will run in 720p HD and have support for Trophies and Achievements. Hit the jump for the full list, sans unlockables.

All I had to see were Vectorman, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe and I know I'm getting it.

Comix Zone, Streets of Rage 2 and Shining Force for me... and I've been waiting ages to play Phantasy Star IV. It hasn't seen US release since the Genesis.
