Yesterday, when we relayed the news of Zen Studios' new PSN FPS based around Marvel's The Punisher, we had a few guesses about what the game would entail. We're cautiously holding out hope for some decent, gritty mayhem despite Zen Studios' track record, and today, the Hungarian developers supplied Sony's PlayStation.Blog with a few answers to some of the expected questions about The Punisher: No Mercy. For starters, it looks like we were right about the game's absence from Xbox Live Arcade being a size issue -- Zen Studios' Zsolt Kigyossy told PlayStation.Blog that the game would be "hopefully below 1gig." Hopefully. Meaning, of course, it could even be more than a gigabyte, which would put it far, far beyond the size limit for an XBLA title.
Kigyossy also detailed a few of the game's features, including a single-player mode with an "original story," which would in turn unlock a mess of special abilities and weapon power-ups, allowing players to customize their character as they see fit. The game will also have full Trophy support, which we suspect will look like shiny skulls composed of various precious metals.
We've also learned the game will run at 30 frames-per-second and will have no Hungarian subtitle support. Way to half-ass it, Kigyossy.
