Independent conference and trade show producer Game Path announced plans for four video games industry events in 2009. The three conferences and one summit will focus on independent game development, investment and education.

Game Path's first event, the Independent Game Conference East (IGC EAST) will take place May 7-8, at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. The conference will offer two tracks: a technical track for programmers, engineers, artists and audio technicians; and a business track for executives and marketing personnel. IGC EAST will also host a game demo night, providing attending developers an opportunity to showcase their current projects to publishers and peers.

The 2009 Game Education Summit (GES) will take place June 16-17 in Pittsburgh, PA at the Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center. GES explores the latest in games scholarship and education by bringing together academics, administrators and video games industry professionals to discuss the future of university and college game programs.

Independent Game Conference West (IGC WEST) will take place August 6 -7 at the Marriott Courtyard in Long Beach, CA. The conference tracks and events will be the same as those offered at IGC EAST.

Finally, Game Path's Game Investment Conference will take place Sept. 10 – 11 at the Four Seasons Hotel in East Palo Alto, CA. The conference will bring together an array of angel networks, venture capital firms, private individuals and equity firms interested in investing in the video games industry, as well as M&A organizations sourcing development talent. Potential investors will learn about various game genres, investment options and business models, and will also hear from developers looking for funding.
