Tom Clancy's aluminum birds have had a long, turbulent flight from Ubisoft Budapest, but the wait is nearly over. Today, Ubisoft North America confirmed that "H.A.W.X." is slated for simultaneous release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on March 5 -- and that tomorrow, Xbox 360 owners will be able to take three of the game's planes out for a spin Herbst manuever in the game's first demo.
Featuring four-player "jump in/jump out" co-op, the game's tutorial level and one full mission set in Rio De Janeiro, the "H.A.W.X." demo will arrive on Xbox LIVE at 2 A.M. PST tomorrow morning, and will hit PlayStation Network and PC approximately two weeks later on February 26th.
Why the delay? A Ubisoft representative explained that Microsoft has a limited exclusive on the demo in North America.
While PC gamers will have to wait, PS3 owners should note that PlayStation Network Europe will host the H.A.W.X. demo only one day after its Xbox counterpart, on Thursday, Feb. 12. With this and the "Killzone 2" demo now available, there's never been a better time to create a foreign PSN account.
SAN FRANCISCO – February 10, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announces that an official Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X demo will be available for download for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network beginning on February 11, 2009 at 2 a.m. PST. H.A.W.X demos will be available for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows-based PCs beginning on February 26, 2009.
In this demo, players will dominate the skies for the first time and battle planes, tanks, and amphibious assaults and have the opportunity to dogfight with other elite pilots in a stunning panoramic boss scene.
