Ubisoft isn't shying away from the fact that "Prince of Persia" ends with a cliffhanger -- in fact, they're rather hoping it will sell three more hours of gameplay come Feb. 26. That's when the aptly-named "Prince of Persia Epilogue Downloadable Content" will arrive on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network, with a "new epic journey" in a corrupted region called "The Underground Palace."

But according to an interview at IGN, there's rather more to this DLC than a new area. Ubisoft associate producer Jamal Rguigui said that the "Epilogue DLC" will change the dynamics of PoP gameplay by adding a pair of new moves, fiercer foes and more difficult traps -- and will include plenty of new dialogue and character development to go with them.

New achievements and trophies will also be part of the mix.

Pricing has yet to be announced; hit the jump for the bullet-pointed press release.

January 29, 2009 – Today Ubisoft revealed new details about Prince of Persia® Epilogue Downloadable Content (DLC). Scheduled to release for consoles February 26, 2009, Prince of Persia DLC continues the story of the Prince and Elika with a brand-new epic adventure. Game features include:

- New Region: The Underground Palace – A corrupted underground palace from which the Prince and Elika need to escape in a new epic journey.
- New Power: Energize – Reconstruct destroyed areas of the environment to create a path and rush through it before it vanishes.
- New high pace: The new trap challenge – The Prince and Elika will face more cunning foes, cleverer traps and level design, adding more to the difficulty level in over 3 hours of gameplay.
- New Attack: Sprinting Clash – A duel move that lets you or the enemy trigger a sprint attack, charging towards each other, clashing your weapons fiercely.
- New Unlockable Skins: Finish the game and unlock exclusively, from the early development of the game, the Prototype characters of the Prince and Elika.

The 360 version of PoP was the second game I got all 1000 Gamerscore points for (the first being Bioshock), and I had a lot of fun exploring the game's world, so I welcome some new areas to explore in the game (assuming it isn't stupidly priced).

I really hope that the PC version is also getting this DLC because that is the version I bought it for and I will be damned if this trend of "Oh we forgot to put content in" continues.
