The "Year of Paradise" is over; but that won't stop developer Criterion Games from giving their open-world racing title "Burnout Paradise" one last, free overhaul. Today, Criterion announced that on Feb. 6, the same day "Burnout" hits PC, much of the game will be rebalanced to accommodate new players -- and after a year of pleas unanswered, "Paradise" players will finally be able to press a button to restart a failed race.

What other free tweaks will Criterion make to "Paradise" this February? Find out after the jump.

  • PS3 and PC will get an in-game store to purchase DLC content
  • An in-game browser will provide dynamic info on the multiplayer world of Burnout, and likely notify of store updates
  • Early cars have had handling tweaked to be more accessible, slower, harder to crash and harder to spin out
  • Stunt Run timer will count down more slowly at first, but quicker after multipliers are acquired
  • Road Rage timer no longer accumulates extra time after target number of cars destroyed
  • Lighting changed to increase color saturation
  • Billboards, Smashes and Super Jumps now highlighted, color coded to stand out
  • When performing a single Barrel Roll off a split-ramp, cars will right themselves
  • Difficulty of all events have been adjusted to accommodate new and changed cars
