Fight Night 4 to Feature Mike Tyson, Insert Ear-Biting Joke Here

News

Virtual Evander Holyfields everywhere, take note: Mike Tyson is being allowed back into the video game ring. EA has announced Fight Night Round 4, currently in development for a 2009 release. The game with "the most realistic 'in the ring' experience" is punching its way onto PS3 and 360, featuring famous boxers like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson. The snark pretty much writes itself, doesn't it? Possible jokes to watch for include "FaceBiter;" questions of in-game drug tests, beauty pageant attendance, prison time, and bankruptcy; whether or not your copy of Don King Presents: Prizefighter will step in and take over your career mode.

Now that we've got that out of the way, the game promises the usual:

No fight will be the same with an all-new physics-based animation system that recreates the full spectrum of true-to-life punch impacts, giving boxers a devastating arsenal of punches, blocks and ring movement. The new physics system allows for missed punches, glancing punches, knockout blows and for the first time ever, rough and tumble inside fighting. Fatigue, adrenaline, footwork and timing all come into play as you hammer away at your opponents.

Fight Night Round 4 has not yet been rated. Remember, ESRB, Tyson's unusual appetite for human flesh is really just "Comic Mischief."

  1. Sweet Science Says:

Yeah, Tyson's a bit of a joke these days but it'll be fun to get him to fight all the other greats in this game. Judging by the videos on the FNR4 website, it should be a real winner.
