The Best Places for Selling Used Games?

Sure, we all know you can get rid of used games at GameStop—but we also know that doing so is usually an awful deal resulting in far less than the game is worth, save for the occasional "4 for an extra 40%!" type deals. Forbes has a new article (via Lifehacker) on the three best ways to make money off of old games: GameStop and other used-game selling stores, auctions, and trading oriented websites.

Obviously, trading games in at stores such as GameStop and GameCrazy are the easiest, but they also result in the lowest amount of money earned. Auctions on sites such as eBay and Amazon may make you the most, but they have the highest risk as you can’t guarantee the amount of money you’ll be making. It seems the best option, according to Cheap Ass Gamer’s David Abrams, is trade-in websites, such as Goozex, which allow players to exchange titles for points directly between one another; the resulting points allow users to “buy” other used games.

In addition, there’s also the always-present option of just exchanging games with friends on websites and forums, game-for-game. Sites like NeoGAF, High-Def Digest, Cheap Ass Gamer, and IGN have bustling swapping communities. With these, though, it’s always buyer-beware. Surprisingly, the article has no mention of Craisglist, which is what I’ve had the most success with in the past.

What about you guys? What’s your preferred method of exchanging your old games for cash/new ones?
