People often enjoy putting SEGA's efforts down, but for me, they still retain much of their old magic, which made them great back in the day. With the release of under-appreciated gems, like Valkyria Chronicles, and the continued support of Japan-centric franchises which often fail to capture western audiences, like Yakuza here, I really can't stay mad for long, even though I'd have many damn good reasons to, with the treatment some of their other franchises receive -- yes, I'm looking at you Sonic Team. Try much harder.
The latest spark of that profound magic comes in the form of this special edition of the PlayStation 3's 80GB version, which will be bundled with the new Yakuza 3 title and has a glorious dragon imprinted on its slick, glowing white surface. It will most likely remain a Japanese exclusive, but I can't help smiling and remembering the Panzer Dragoon Orta special edition of the original Microsoft Xbox. A hint of Sega Saturn legacy always helps win me over. Speaking of which, where's my Xbox Originals version of that gem Microsoft?
Well, keep it up SEGA, you're well on your way to getting back into fans' hearts with games and PR stunts like this. Just, please, stop raping Sonic and focus on your good games and publishing deals. I'm sure even you don't like ruining all your Conduit, Mad World, Total War and Valkyria Chronicles exposure and critical acclaim, with the release of yet another sub-par Sonic.
