If you ever played Tony Hawk games back in the day (when they were still original and good), chances are you’ve either played, or will like, Skate. EA’s newly formed skating series with a questionable future now that Black Box has been dismantled burst onto the scene as the best skating game since the golden days of Hawkdom, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the second iteration.
Over at Xbox.com’s calendar of events, a new Demo Download & Win sweepstakes has arisen -- this time Skate 2. Starting January 8 and running until January 15, the contest makes it pretty clear that the Skate 2 demo will likely be hitting the 360 Marketplace on January 8, if not a few days before it. But what about a PS3 demo?
The PS3 was the main platform for Skate, so I’d find it hard to believe PS3 owners wouldn’t get any love. While Sony and/or EA have yet to hint at a release date for the Skate 2 demo and aren't confirming anything via email or phone, the fact that January 8 is a Thursday—the day PSN updates go down—makes me believe that we’ll likely see a release of a PS3 version that day as well. Only time will tell, though. Either way, I’ll be playing the Skate 2 demo next week day one, without question.
