Assuming you’re in the video game industry, that is. Maybe there’s a physicist or football player out there with more awards. Within this field, however, you don’t get more award-winning than Sid Meier, legendary designer behind the Civilization franchise and Pirates!, among many, many others. Mr. Meier was cited as the award-winningest man in the industry by Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2008.
Meier had this to say about his new award regarding his old awards:
“I’m fortunate to be able to do what I love and am grateful for all of the wonderful recognition I’ve received over the years,” said Sid Meier. “It is every kid’s dream to make it into the Guinness World Records and I’m thrilled to be a part of the prestigious book. I’m thankful to the many game critics who have enjoyed our games and hope they are as excited about our upcoming Civilization Revolution title as I am.”
Meier is referring, of course, to the new entry in the Civilization line, which is bringing the (obviously) award-winning franchise to consoles. Well done, Sid, well done. Your citizens are happy for you and will be far more productive. Time to get cracking on that granary.
